Promociona tu Preprint: Students & Postdocs! Pitch your Preprint at ICAR 2024 San Diego!

Submission deadline extended to 7 May!

Last year in November 2023, BioRxiv, the revolutionary biology preprint server, celebrated its 10th anniversary. To extend this celebration at ICAR 2024, we are organizing a unique competition showcasing up to 10 graphical abstracts of the selected preprints published in the last year.

A unique competition at ICAR 2024 allowing students (master’s degree, doctoral/PhD) and postdocs to showcase their creativity and scientific communication skills through presenting a graphical abstract of their preprint. This competition will give visibility to the presented preprints and their authors. To be eligible for this competition, participants (first authors) must have uploaded a preprint to a recognized preprint server within 12 months of the start of ICAR2024.

Applicants (students & postdocs) should submit a 100-word abstract that summarizes the key findings and significance of the preprint by 7th May (extended from April 22nd). Up to 10 selected abstracts will then be invited to submit their graphical abstract by June 15th, 2024, for full consideration. The finalists will then participate in an in-person live championship round during the workshop where the participant will present their graphical abstract as a flash-talk (5 mins with three slides) followed by a live voting by the audience.

The top three winners will get certificates of achievement and recognition in relevant academic and scientific circles. We encourage ICAR attendees from diverse backgrounds with varied experiences and perspectives to participate in this engaging competition and contribute to the richness of this workshop.
